Richard E. Truby

Richard E. Truby, 74, of Dutchtown Road in Butler Township died at 6 a.m. Monday at his home.

Born in Butler, April 2, 1930, he was the son of Richard J. Truby and Dorothy Brewster Truby Morrison.

He was a Korean War veteran and received a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for injuries received during the war. He belonged to the VFW Post 249.

Mr. Truby retired in 1992 as a machinist at Armco-Butler Works after 44 years. He enjoyed boating and was an avid hunter.

He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Jane "Janey" Fogel Truby, whom he married Oct. 12, 1950; three daughters, Mrs. David (Sherry) Grenci and Mrs. Melvin (Marcy) McChesney, both of Butler, and Mrs. Ed (Barb) McCaffrey of Saxonburg; and nine grandchildren.

TRUBY - Friends of Richard E. Truby, who died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Williams, his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.VFW Post 249 will hold military honors at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 218 E.
