Pioneers snare pair of victories
Matt Lobaugh had 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Butler County Community College men's basketball team in its 104-64 victory over CCAC-South Wednesday.
The win avenged two earlier losses to South and also guarantees a winning season for the Pioneers (13-7).
Chris Harmon added 17 points, Grant Bailey had 11 points and seven rebounds and had Joel Rehm six assists. Each player for BC3 reached the scoring column.
The Pioneers return to action at noon Saturday. The women's squad will play at 2 p.m.
Brittany Anderson tallied 15 points and 18 rebounds, leading the Butler County Community College women's basketball team to a 61-53 overtime win over CCAC-South Wednesday.The Pioneers (5-11, 3-4) won the game by shutting out their opponents 8-0 in the extra period.Stephanie Devore scored 21 points in the victory while Julie Wills added 16.Grove City College 61, Waynesburg College 51- Abby Moose, who played for Portersville Christian School until transferring to Mercer for her senior year, scored 13 points to reach 1,000 in her career as the Wolverines (8-7 overall, 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference) toppled Waynesburg Wednesday night.It was the first game back in the lineup for Moose after spending two weeks in Australia playing for the U.S. women's basketball team in the Deaflympics.Moose is now eighth on Grove City's all-time scoring list.Seneca Valley High School graduate Candice Eyerman had a tough night for Waynesburg, shooting just 1-for-9 from beyond the 3-point stripe and finishing with three points.
