Dorothy Juanita Meals
Dorothy Juanita Meals, 91, of Slippery Rock died at 1:40 p.m. Monday at Orchard Manor.
Born March 17, 1913, in Armstrong County, she was the daughter of John Walls and Mary Raymer Walls.
She was a lifetime member of the Muddycreek Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Methusala Many.
Mrs. Meals also was a member of the Slippery Rock Senior Center, where she entertained through skits, poetry, her participation in the Kitchen Band and her portrayal of Minnie Pearl.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Lila Maye) Book of South Carolina and Mrs. Jesse (Joann) Hines of Slippery Rock; a son, Kenneth Meals of Volant; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladine Bell of Lake Mary, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Leroy Meals, who died March 25, 1987, four sisters, two brothers and an infant daughter and a grandson.
MEALS - Friends of Dorothy Juanita Meals, who died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Kail, her pastor, officiating. He will be assisted by Paul Cashdollar. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Muddy Creek Church Children's Summer Church Camp.
