Frey helps Knoch fry Valley

Maria Frey scored 18 points to lead the Knoch girls basketball team to a 50-36 Section 1-AAA victory over host Valley Thursday.

Nicole Reiser added eight steals and eight assists for the Knights (8-2, 5-1).

Senior Joe Wagner set a new Knoch record in the 200 freestyle Thursday with a time of 1 minute, 56.28 seconds in the Knights' 90-65 loss to Quaker Valley.Wagner also qualified for the WPIAL meet with a time of 1:04.98 in the 100 backstroke, while freshman Doug Vogus won the 500 freestyle in 5:55.28.Junior Bethany Legin set a school record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:07.24 in Knoch's 99-76 loss to Quaker Valley.

Woodland Hills 798, Butler 796 -The Wolverines slipped past the Tornado Thursday.

Freeport 2, Butler 2 -Dalton Moore scored with three seconds left to help the Yellowjackets tie the Tornado.Shane Gallagher had a goal and assist while Moore and Kyle Waddell also registered assists and Tim Zahumensky played a solid game in goal for Freeport.
