3:40 a.m. Monday - A pickup truck driven by Michael J. Parks of Beaver Falls and a snow plow driven by Thomas Sefton of Butler collided on Route 528 in Franklin Township. The pickup hit the truck's plow as Parks attempted to pass. He lost control of his pickup, which went off the road, hit an embankment and rolled onto its roof. Parks was cited for improper passing.Monday - An unidentified vehicle traveling north on Route 8 in Brady Township drove off the highway and hit three mailboxes.6 p.m. Dec. 16 - William M. Lewis Jr., 23, of New Castle was charged with theft after taking compact discs worth $204 from Boscov's department store at Clearview Mall.Dec. 8 - Jason Vogan of Slippery Rock Township reported the inspection sticker was removed from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Huellen Lane. The windshield was damaged.Nov. 8 to Dec. 14 - Todd M. Fair, 26, of Slippery Rock is accused of forgery for stealing a checkbook from Sergio Gonzalez of Slippery Rock Township and writing several checks totaling $1,087.Nov. 26 to Nov. 29 - Three credit cards, from Target, Lazarus-Macy's and AAA VISA were reported stolen from Amy D. Baker of Cabot while she was in Philadelphia. Fraudulent purchases totaling $4,188 were made with the cards in the Philadelphia area.Sept. 28 - A case of identity theft was reported after an unidentified person opened a credit card account in the name of Lisa Marie Martinkovich, 34, of Butler, and used it to make more than $1,200 in purchases.
3:05 p.m. Dec. 14 - A tractor-trailer driven by Nicholas D. Miller, 28, of Bellevue, Ohio, hit a utility pole at the intersection of Routes 322 and 66 in Paint Township and drove away without stopping. A Pennsylvania Game Commission officer followed the vehicle to a truck stop.
