Gertrude S. Davey
Gertrude S. "Trudy" Davey, 93, formerly of the Terrace Apartments and Lumar Village, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Lowrie House.
Born in Bruin, May 16, 1911, she was the daughter of Isaac Charles "Chuck" and Lucy May Stevenson Say.
She retired in 1976 as an elementary teacher. During her career, she taught at the Parker Township school in Eldorado and for the Karns City School District after the consolidation of the Karns City and Chicora schools.
She attended Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading and belonged to the Slippery Rock Normal School Alumni.
Surviving is a son, John C. Davey of Butler.
A brother preceded her in death.
DAVEY - Friends of Gertrude S. Davey, who died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Mohr II, campus chaplain at Westminster College, officiating.
