LaVerne and Shirley Protzman of Fenelton will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 201 W. Jefferson St.

The former Shirley Fair married Protzman on Dec. 30, 1954, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

They have three children, Dwight Protzman of Saxonburg, Roseann Morrow of Fenelton and Kathleen LaSota of Patton. They also have six grandchildren.

Protzman retired in 1991 from Armco. A veteran of the Korean War, he is a member of the National Rifle Association, the VFW and the Happy Hunters.

Mrs. Protzman retired in 1991 from the Butler Area School District. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, the Butler County Association of School Retirees and the Butler Poetry Group.

The couple belongs to St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
