Gladys Engstler

Gladys M. (Leathers) Engstler, 84, of Saxonburg died Sunday at Abbey Hill Assisted Living.

Born Aug. 8, 1920, in Middle Lancaster, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Ana (Piper) Schofield.

She was retired as a gift store clerk for North Hills Passavant Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Sandra) Bombara of Cabot; a son, Larry and his wife, Mercedes Leathers, of Butler; a brother, Paul Schofield of Verona; a sister, Anna Grace Whaley of Port Lucie, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward W. Leathers in 1954; her second husband, John G. Engstler in 1986; two brothers; two sisters, and a grandchild.

ENGSTLER - Friends of Gladys M. (Leathers) Engstler, who died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. John Getsy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Herman.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Butler Visiting Nurses Association.
