An Aug. 6 wedding is being planned by Erin Ward and Michael Witman, both of Alexandria, Va.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steve and Karen Ward of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Russell and Mary Jane Witman of Leesport.

The bride-elect graduated in 1997 from Butler High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in education in 2001 and a master's degree in higher education in 2003, both from Geneva College. She is a second-grade teacher for the Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, Va.

Her fiancé graduated in 1992 from Schuykill Valley High School and in 1996 from Wesley College. He is a sixth-grade physical education teacher in the Alexandria City Public Schools in Alexandria.
