Rear Adm.Elizabeth Hight,
wife of Butler High School alumnus Gary Salisbury, was promoted to her current rank in July at a ceremony at the Pentagon.
During her 27-year Navy career, she has held a variety of assignments and currently is director of Space, Information Warfare and C2 assigned to the staff of the chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon.
Salisbury, who retired from the Air Force in February 2003 as a brigadier general after 31 years, was a former director of C4 systems at the U.S. European Command, with prior stints at the Defense Information Systems Agency, the U.S. Transportation Command, U.S. Space Command, the Joint Staff and Air Staff at the Pentagon. He also participated in planning and operations in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq.
He currently is employed by Northrop Grumman as director of Defense Information Systems within DMS's Space and Intelligence Systems operating unit.
It is believed that Salisbury and Hight are the only married couple to achieve general and flag rank.
Salisbury, the son of Ann Salisbury of Summit Township and the late Roy Salisbury, and his wife make there home in Arlington, Va. They are the parents of a son.

Bary McMaster
has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.
He is the son of Rita Duncan of Harrisville and Robert McMaster of Renfrew.
McMaster, a 1995 alumnus of Valley High School, is a 2001 graduate of Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, Pittsburgh.

Luke Berkopec
has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He is the son of Robert Berkopec of Gibsonia and Beth McElhinny of Evans City.
Berkopec graduated in 2001 from Pine-Richland High School and received an associate degree from the Community College of Allegheny County in 2004.
