Slippery Rock University senior nose guard Brian Godfrey will play in the Cactus Bowl Jan. 7 at Texas A&M-Kingsville.

The Cactus Bowl is the NCAA Division II all-star game. Godfrey is the 12th SRU player invited to play in the Cactus Bowl since the game's inception in 1994.

SRU's Bill Ricks, a center, was tapped for the 2004 Cactus Bowl.

Knoch graduate Greg Bzorek, a junior offensive lineman at Edinboro University, was named first team Daktronics All-Northeast Region.Slippery Rock University senior nose guard Brian Godfrey earned second-team honors.
