Clifford and Grace Younkins of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise dinner buffet for family and friends at Christ Community United Methodist Church.

The former Grace McCracken married Younkins on Nov. 12, 1954, at Springdale United Methodist Church in Springdale.

They have five children, Cheryl Youkers and Janet Kirkwood, both of Butler; Lorie Lewis of Chicora; Clifford Younkins of Girard; and Amy Stewart of Orlando, Fla.

They also have four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two stepgreat-granddaughters.

Younkins is retired from the Air Force. He is a member of the Butler Area Flying Club.

Mrs. Younkins is retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She is a member of the Quilters Group.

The couple belongs to Christ Community United Methodist Church, the Keystone Squares Club and the Round Robins Round Dance Club.
