Helen Louise Wimer

Helen Louise Pride Wimer, 94, formerly of Butler, died at 2:25 a.m. Friday in the Lund Care Center at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Winfield Township.

Born Aug. 2, 1910, in Butler, she was the daughter of Charles Albert and Edith Mae Kennedy Pride.

She was a homemaker and a former clerk at H.J. Heinz in Pittsburgh.

She was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of America in Butler. She was active in her church as a youth ministries advisor and Sunday school teacher, as well as on various committees. She enjoyed reading, witnessing her faith and serving her Lord Jesus Christ. She had a love for nature, rhododendrons and azaleas.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Sue Ross of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, Evan Albert Wimer of Saxonburg and Arthur Pride Wimer of Palm Bay, Fla.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan Atwell Wimer, whom she married June 7, 1933, and who died March 14, 1980.

WIMER - Friends of Helen Louise Wimer, who died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, will be received from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday atTHOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Westminster Presbyterian Church of America. The Rev. Dr. H. Curtis McDaniel will officiate.
