Nonprofit organizations soon will receive their part of the proceeds of this year's Butler Area Merchants Association Auction.

The auction was

held Oct. 8 to 10 at the National Guard Armory in Connoquenessing Township by the Butler County Chamber of Commerce and Armstrong.

This year's televised auction raised $25,000 that will be divided among the Associated Artists of Butler County, Moraine Trails Council and the Special Olympics.

Since its inception in 1982, the BAMA Auction has raised almost $1 million for Butler County's nonprofit organizations.

Planning for the 2005 auction has already begun. Those individuals and businesses interested in volunteering or making donations to the auction are asked to call the chamber at 724-283-2222.
