Butler graduates Ryanne Forcht and Maggie Quinlan, members of the Seton Hill women's soccer team, received second team NAIA All-Region IX honors.

Forcht is a senior midfielder on the squad and Quinlan is a sophomore defender.

Matt Slamecka and Stefan Kemp of Butler captured the U-14 doubles tennis championship at the Greensburg USTA Junior Thanksgiving Classic Tournament last weekend.The duo defeated Kevin Hickey and Kameron Lynch of Greensburg 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals and Kevin Carter and Brady Zbikowski of Murrysville 6-1, 6-1 in the championship match.

Jordan Foley, a sophomore at Shady Side Academy from Meridian, was named to the Class AA Allegheny Conference honorable mention football team at quarterback.

MIAMI - Ricky Williams, the 2002 NFL rushing champion, rejected a deal to serve a four-game drug suspension this season and return to the field next year. He will remain retired, and his lawyer, David Cornwell, doesn't believe Williams will play again.Williams needed to let the league know his decision by Thursday so he could be moved from the retired list to the suspended list by the deadline. He would have served the suspension for the Miami Dolphins' final four games, starting Dec. 12 at Denver.Had he accepted the reinstatement agreement, Williams would have played next season and re-entered the NFL drug program immediately. He would have been tested on a regular basis.
