Anna Marie Erdlen Cokus

Anna Marie Erdlen Cokus, 60, died Friday at her home in Buffalo Township. She was a 10-year breast cancer survivor.

Born Sept. 14, 1944, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William Ingersol Erdlen and the late Barbara Pavkovic Erdlen.

She graduated from Shaler High School in 1962 and appeared in a television ad for Iron City Beer in 1966. She was a legal assistant for the McArdle Law Firm and the law firm of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote. She typed court transcripts for the Western District of Pennsylvania, sold real estate for Agnes R. Nicklas Real Estate and Century 21 and retired as an administrative assistant at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Her primary job, however, was caring for her family. Her other passions were golf and bridge. She spent summers on various links in Sarver, Butler, Pittsburgh, South Carolina and Florida and received numerous golf trophies.

She is survived by her soul mate and husband, Michael A. Cokus; her ex-husband, Kenneth Donald Geibel of North Hills; her two sons, Dean Erdlen Geibel Esquire and his wife, Ruth Ann and Brett Wesley Geibel and his wife, Jennifer; a sister, Barbara Ann Nugent; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William John and Ruth Erdlen and Paul George and Marian Erdlen; three stepchildren and their spouses, Michele and Salvatore LaQuatro, Michael and Cindy Cokus and Kevin and Carol Cokus; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Adair Shepley III of North Hills.

COKUS — Friends of Anna Marie Erdlen Cokus, who died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME, 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights. A parting prayer service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, with the Rev. Sue Hutchins, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Indiana Township, Allegheny County.In lieu of to flowers, memorial donations may be made to Butler Hospice VNA, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.
