Wallace L. Billek
Wallace L. Billek, 78, of Butler died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Butler, July 13, 1926, he was a son of Michael and Sophy Loza Billek.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and retired on Jan. 31, 1986, from Armco-Butler Works after 41 years.
Mr. Billek was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the Oakview Golf Club and its predecessor, Armco Golf Club. He also belonged to the Butler Elks Lodge 170 and had been in charge of its golf league for several years.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline B. Yansky Billek, whom he married May 24, 1952; a son, Michael A. Billek and his wife, Laura, of Macedonia, Ohio; a brother, John D. Billek of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
BILLEK - A Mass of Christian burial for Wallace L. Billek, who died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery, Leechburg. There will be no public visitation.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Saturday at the church.Arrangements are being handled by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, and information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
