Andy and Betty Jane Collins of Slippery Rock celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise party at the American Legion Post 584 hosted by Tracy Bowers.

The former Betty Jane Monahan married Collins on Nov. 6, 1954, in Belton, Texas.

Collins is retired from the Army, where he served as a master sergeant E8.

Mrs. Collins is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.
