Charlotte N. Patten
Charlotte N. "Todd" Patten, 77, of Ischua, N.Y., a longtime resident of the Cuba, N.Y., died Tuesday at her home after a long illness.
Born Jan. 14, 1927, in Butler, she was a daughter of Kenneth E. and Ruth M. Crawford Wise.
She graduated salutatorian in the 1944 class of Eau Claire High School. During World War II, she worked at the munitions plant in Meadville.
Mrs. Patten moved to the Cuba area with her husband in 1956 after buying the family farm. She was a member of Home Bureau and Abbotts Community Sunshine Club. She was an active member of the Abbotts Community Church, had been a member of the North Park Wesleyan Church of Cuba, and during the winter months, she attended the Summerfield Baptist Church in Summerfield, Fla.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas P. Patten, whom she married Oct. 29, 1945, at Parkers Landing; four children, Harriet Emmons and Brian Patten, both of Cuba, N.Y., Jeffrey Patten of Tucson, Ariz., and Jennifer Poore of Angola, N.Y.; and five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She also is survived by three sisters, Lela Shaner of Portersville, Lila Rhodes of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Barbara Sterner of Grove City; a brother, Kenneth Wise of Rochester, N.Y.; a great-aunt; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
PATTEN - A memorial service for Charlotte N. Patten, ,who died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at North Park Wesleyan Church, 13 N. Park St., Cuba, N.Y., The Rev. Jonathan D.
