RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of The Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68 West, is coordinating a trip to the Pittsburgh District Central Zone Churches of the Nazarene worship rally. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene. Steve Dillman, the Rev. Paul Willette of Butler and the Rev. Andy Anderson of Cleveland will speak. For transportation, be at the Butler church by 6:30 p.m.

Millie Martsolf will provide special music at the 10:45 a.m. Sunday morning worship service.

"Removing Hindrances to Prayer" Bible study will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.

There will be no Caravan Kid's Club Wednesday, but the Adventurers will meet for a class party at 6:30 p.m. at Jim and Chrisann Green's home.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

Members of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, interested in assisting with the sausage sale are to meet at 6 p.m. Friday at the church to begin preparations.

Reservations for the adult Christmas party are due by Nov. 20. Sign-up sheets are in the narthex. Cost for the buffet dinner is $9.95 per person; $18 per couple.

Items being collected for Operation Soldier should be left in the collection bins in the narthex.

The mission team is assisting with the cleanup and renovation of homes damaged in the recent floods. For work times and scheduling, call the church office.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Thanksgiving will be celebrated during the Saturday evening and Sunday morning services at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

The Tom Walker family will provide music at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service.

The new handbell and chime choir will perform at both Sunday morning services.

Volunteers are needed to run the PowerPoint program during the weekend services. For information, call the church office at 724-283-8407.

The youth group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday for bowling and laser tag. Cost is $5 per person.

Regular Wednesday evening activities will be cancelled on Nov. 24.

Sunday is the last day to order poinsettias for the sanctuary. To order, call the church office.

COVENANT PRESBY

The yard cleanup at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday.

George Brown, associate professor of political science at Slippery Rock University, will lead the Seekers Class on Sunday. The class meets at 9:45 a.m. in the Assemble Room.

The Hungry Hearts Spiritual Fellow Group will meet from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES

A congregational Thanksgiving meal will follow the Sunday service at Family Life Ministries, 932 Mercer Road. For information, call the church at 724-287-1336.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Berean Sunday Class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will hold a potluck social at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Baptist Youth Center. Rolls and beverages will be provided.

The Kingdom Seekers Sunday school class will hold a family social at 7 p.m. Saturday at the home of Brian and Heather Lorenzini. Each family is to take finger food.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Holy Communion will be celebrated at the Sunday services at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

Baked products for Meals on Wheels should be brought to the church Sunday morning.

Thanksgiving food plates will be prepared at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the church.

Non-perishable food items or cleaning products are being collected for flood victims and may be brought to the church Sunday or at the Thanksgiving Eve service.

Gifts for children at Trinity North Side in Pittsburgh are being accepted. Anyone wanting to help one or more children can call the office at 724-283-2378.

FIRST U.M.

First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will perform the hanging of the greens from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Volunteers are needed to decorate the sanctuary for the holidays. Contact the church office for more details at 724-283-6160. Dinner will be provided.

God's Country Band will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Seeds of Hope Addiction Ministry will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday

in the Epworth Center. The date was changed in observance of Thanksgiving.

There will be no Kidz Zone, Kidz Choir, or Youth Bells on Wednesday in observance of Thanksgiving.

The church office will be closed Thursday and Friday.

There will be Advent practice from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday for anyone involved in the Advent presentation. Practice will be in the main sanctuary.

First Church will be giving out baskets of food to help feed those less fortunate. If you or someone you know needs food this holiday, contact the church office.

GLADE RUN U.P.

The annual meeting of the Corporation and Congregation of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will follow the 11 a.m. Sunday service. Lunch will be served prior to the meeting.

HILL U.P.

The Kids of the Kingdom Choir will sing at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.

The hanging of the greens will follow Sunday worship. A light lunch will be provided for volunteers.

The youth handbell choir will practice at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child are due on Sunday. Contact the church for additional information.

Care packages for college students and military will be assembled Nov. 28. Monetary donations for this project should be given to the board of deacons. Current mailing addresses for students are needed immediately.

Volunteers are needed for the holiday festival on Nov. 27. HYlights teens should contact John Porter to volunteer. Adults should contact John Richards or Barb Bishop.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

Infants and children will be dedicated to the Lord Sunday at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

NORTH MAIN STREET CHURCH OF GOD

The board of directors will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in the conference room at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext.

The board of Christian education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the conference room.

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no regular Wednesday evening activities.

The church office will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Poinsettias may be ordered in memory of, or in honor of, a loved one or in gratitude to God at either welcome center or at the church office. Poinsettias will be placed for the holiday and may be taken home after the Christmas Eve service. Place your order by Dec. 6.

OLD UNION PRESBY

A fellowship dinner will be held Sunday after church at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. Take a dish to share.

The church growth team will meet Sunday after the worship service.

PARK UNITED PRESBY

Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, will celebrate the season of Advent beginning Nov. 28. Come and join us for this season of preparation as we celebrate the coming of God in human form: the birth of Jesus. We will begin our celebration with Communion. The Rev. Pat McElroy will preach through the opening chapters of the book of Matthew as he opens his new preaching series "Light of the World."

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

A Thanksgiving service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

The Little People Group will host a Thanksgiving Breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The adult choir will hold extra practices from 12:15 to 2 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday. Tech rehearsal for the Christmas Music Festival will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 28.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

The youth of St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 West at Benbrook Road, will hold a roller skating party from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The annual Thanksgiving service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday. Maj. Robert Carney of the Salvation Army will be the guest speaker.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

Communion will be served at both Sunday services this week at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St. Those who are unable to receive Communion at the altar rail should sit in the front pew.

The senior choir will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the Thanksgiving Eve service.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

Addition rehearsals for the Christmas choir at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays beginning Nov. 21.

A sign-up sheet for poinsettias will be in the back of the church.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

The Guatemala Mission Group of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will sell items after Sunday Masses.

The prayer group will hold a cookie sale after the Saturday and Sunday Masses.

There will be no Faith Formation classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Nov. 25 and 28. The regular schedule will resume Nov. 30.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Gary Collar will provide music at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury. A thank offering service will also be presented by the women of the ELCA.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, will serve communion at the 8:30 a.m. service on Sunday. Family Advent Night will begin at 6 p.m.

TRINITY PRESBY

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., is receiving the thank offering to support medical projects of the Presbyterian Women and our Christmas Care program.

WHITE OAK SPRINGS PRESBY

Members of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, will hold their annual Thank offering and Ingathering service Sunday at 9:45 a.m. Those attending the service are asked to take an offering of non-perishable food items or monetary gifts for the Evans City Food Cupboard.

ZION LUTHERAN
