James M. Thalman

James M. Thalman, 82, formerly of Fawn Township, Allegheny County, died Friday at Harmar Village Nursing Center in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.

Born Oct. 16, 1921, in Freeport, he was the son of August and Daisy Johns Thalman.

He lived in Fawn Township for 50 years before moving to the Natrona area three years ago.

Mr. Thalman was a corporal in the Army during World War II. He had been a steelworker at the U.S. Steel's sintering plant in Saxonburg for 25 years.

He was a Presbyterian, and he enjoyed camping, fishing and electronic gadgets.

Surviving are a son, James M. Thalman of Jefferson Township; two brothers, August Thalman Jr. of Elizabeth and Robert Thalman of Curtisville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth M. Walker Thalman, who died in 1999; and a brother, William Thalman.
