12:42 a.m. Wednesday - A couple was arrested for allegedly assaulting one another during a domestic dispute at their home, 143 Fourth Ave., Apt. 1. Robert Hays, 44, and Cindy Ealy, 43, were both injured in the assault. Ealy was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and received several stitches inside her mouth. Both were arraigned on simple assault charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.

2:35 a.m. today - Laura Jo Leitch, 30, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at Spang and Walker avenues in Butler.5 p.m. Wednesday - A car driven by Constance Emmett, 69, of Harrisville struck a deer on Route 108 in Slippery Rock Township.4 p.m. Wednesday - Russell Dean Johnson, 38, of Hilliards was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a cat with a 12-gauge shotgun at the Five Oaks Trailer Court in Washington Township. Johnson is charged with cruelty to animals.1 p.m. Wednesday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Shannon West, 39, of Slippery Rock struck an embankment along Route 4002 in Clay Township. West, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.8:33 a.m. Wednesday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Catherine Bloom, 34, of Oakland Township and a car driven by Raymond McConnell, 25, of Concord Township collided at Route 38 and Layton Road in Oakland Township. Patrick Bloom, 10, of Oakland Township, a passenger in the SUV who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.2:10 a.m. Wednesday - Aaron Paris, 18, of Pittsburgh swerved his car to avoid a deer on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. The vehicle struck an embankment and rolled onto its side.

Nov. 4 - A pair of Ohio women were arrested for allegedly shoplifting numerous items at stores at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Kyla Wilford, no age given, of Kent and Karen Steinbrenner, no age given, of Lakewood are charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. The women are accused of taking items from the Liz Claiborne, Dress Barn and County Fair stores.Steinbrenner and Wilford are in the Mercer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 and $5,000 bond, respectively.
