9:42 p.m. Monday - Two would-be thieves tried to snatch the purse of a woman in the rear parking lot at the Eat' n Park restaurant on New Castle Road.The woman, whom police did not identify, said she was getting into her vehicle when an unknown person dressed in black clothing walked up to her and grabbed her purse. The woman managed to hold on to the purse as the unknown suspect and another person, also dressed in black clothing, ran from the parking lot.Anyone with information about the attempted purse-snatching is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.

8:55 p.m. Tuesday - Two Pittsburgh boys, ages 14 and 15, escaped from Summit Academy on Herman Road in Summit Township. No other information was available.5:23 p.m. Tuesday - Cars driven by Jacob Gray, 19, of Butler and Daniel Paulovich, 24, of Ambridge, Beaver County, collided at Route 68 and Brownsdale Road in Forward Township.10:45 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Ashley Foster, no age given, of West Middlesex, Mercer County, struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.

12:40 a.m. Tuesday - A mini-van driven by Donald Altman, 51, of Grove City struck a deer on Cranberry Road near George Junior Road in Pine Township, Mercer County.
