Martha C. Pezzi, 86, of Ellwood City, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday at her home.

Born Nov. 15, 1917, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Generoso and Julianna Squicquero Minnocci.

She was a member of Holy Redeemer parish of Ellwood City and the Opti-Mrs. Club. She was an avid bowler and golfer and a former member of Del-Mar Golf Course. She also belonged to the Sons of Columbus Council 61.

Mrs. Pezzi was a 1936 graduate of Lincoln High School, where she was a star basketball player on the girls' varsity team.

Surviving are a daughter, Marianne Kline, with whom she made her home; a son, Frank J. "Franco" Pezzi of Ellwood City; a sister, Helen Fera of Ellwood City; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Her husband, Frank J, Pezzi Sr., whom she married Nov. 16, 1939, died Dec. 13, 1991. She also was preceded in death by eight siblings.

PEZZI - Friends of Martha C. Pezzi, who died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at SAMUEL TEOLIS FUNERAL HOME, 309 Spring Ave., Ellwood City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Ellwood City, with the Rev. Mauro Cautela. Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum, Holy Redeemer Cemetery.Members of the Christian Mothers will meet at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church to form an honor guard.Memorial donations may be made to the Angel Fund of Holy Redeemer Parish, 500 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City.
