Watson 50th anniversary

Wyndle and Rose Marie Watson of Adams Township celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise family dinner at Dynasty International Buffet in Cranberry Township hosted by their children. They also celebrated with a Western Caribbean cruise.

The former Rose Marie Jewart married Watson on Oct. 30, 1954, at the Parsonage of the North Butler Presbyterian Church in Boydstown.

They have two children, Brett Watson of Adams Township and Wyndie

Willis of Fort Pierce, Fla.

They also have four grandchildren.

Watson retired from the newspaper industry in 1997 after working for 13 years at the Butler County News Record, 10 years at the Butler Eagle, 23 years at the Pittsburgh Press and five years at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. An avid hunter and fisherman, he is a member of the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club and the Connoquenessing Valley Archery Club.

Mrs. Watson retired in 1996 after working for the Troutman Department Store, Isalys in Zelienople,

Penzmart

in Mars, and the Mars Drug Store. She is a past member of the Hobbyettes hobby club of Zelienople. She enjoys camping, reading and crocheting.
