John "Jack" and Beverly Doerr of Sarver celebrated 50 years of marriage with a party hosted by their family at the Winfield Township Fire Hall.

The former Beverly Fritch married Doerr on Oct. 15, 1954, at the Evangelical Brethren Church in Sarver.

They have three children, Jackie Leslie of Sarver, Jon Doerr of Freeport and Jennifer Doerr of Waynesburg. They also have eight granddaughters.

Doerr retired from Moonlight Mushrooms after 40 years. He enjoys bowling.

Mrs. Doerr also worked at Moonlight Mushrooms, retiring after 31 years. She enjoys ceramics.

The couple belongs to Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver and enjoys spending time with family.
