Seneca Valley earned the No. 1 seed in the WPIAL Class AAA girls volleyball tournament and has drawn a first-round bye.

The Raiders will face the winner of Wednesday's Greensburg Salem-Moon match, which is slated for 6 p.m. at Montour High School.

Three Butler County schools are involved in the Class AA tournament:

Knoch faces Ford City at 6 p.m. Tuesday at North Allegheny High School.

Mars faces South Park at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Montour High School.

Freeport faces Derry at 6 p.m. Thursday at Penn-Trafford High School.

Seneca Valley High School graduate Steve Minton rushed for 157 yards and three first-half touchdowns as Thiel College routed Westminster College 28-0 Saturday.It was Thiel's first win against the Titans since 1950.

Tyler Armagost, 13, of Boyers will compete in the regional Punt, Pass and Kick competition at Heinz Field Sunday before the Steelers-New England Patriots game.The top four finishers out of the competitions in all 32 NFL cities will advance to the national competition during the AFC and NFC championship games in January.
