BC3 magazine wins national recognition
BUTLER TWP - Facets 2004, the Butler County Community College literary and art magazine, has won national recognition from the American Scholastic Press Association.
The 2004 edition won the highest level awarded - first place with special merit - with 975 points out of a possible 1,000.
In addition, Facets 2004 won an award for best overall art/photography, and Carol J. Myers' poem, "Ambush," won an award for best poem.
The student editors last year of the award-winning publication were Wendy McCulley and Kim Norris. Faculty advisors are Eric Pedersen, Nancy Jean Rose and Kristine Allen.
Rose is accepting entries for the Facets 2005 edition in art, photography, poetry, prose and essays until Dec. 17. Students, alumni, faculty and staff can submit work.

The 2005 edition will debut in May at the Graphic Design Tea at the BC3 Cranberry Center.
