12:42 p.m. Thursday - Ruth Burke, age unknown, was sitting in front of the Shop N' Save at the Pullman Square Shopping Center with her purse in her shopping cart when a young male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans ran past and took her purse. Burke was not hurt. The incident is under investigation.
6:44 a.m. Oct. 15 - A vehicle driven by Diedre Chieffo, 21, of Ellwood City was traveling on West New Castle Street near Rome Metals when a car driven by Maureen Chieffo, 44, of the same address stopped abruptly because of traffic. That caused the younger Chieffo to run into the rear of her mother's vehicle.7:27 a.m. Oct. 13 - Megan Marie Houlihan, 24, of 111 Bassie Drive, Zelienople, was involved in a hit-and-run accident. A car in front of the Zelienople woman had pulled out too far from the parking lot at the 7-Eleven on Main Street and attempted to back up, striking the front end of Houlihan's car, before the car left the parking lot. The police report did not provide a description of the vehicle.
4:10 p.m. Thursday - Perry Ekas, 47, of Cabot rolled a dump truck in a yard on Winfield Road in Winfield Township. Police say Ekas lost control of the truck because of the wet road. He received moderate injuries, but there was no information whether or not he was taken to a hospital.3:50 p.m. Thursday - Neither Shawna Crissman, 20, of Butler nor Renee Dunmire, 44, of North Washington were injured when Crissman's car ran into Dunmire's car at Mahood Road in Center Township. Crissman was traveling in the wrong lane according to police.4 a.m. Thursday - J.J. Gumberg Co., owners of Clearview Mall, report four 12-inch cement blocks and 12 4-by-8-inch cement bricks near the Sears store were damaged. Total damage estimated at $200.2 p.m. Oct. 10 - A 12-year-old boy is accused of entering the home of William and Debra Porter of West Sunbury and damaging a couch and love seat.
1:35 p.m. Oct. 16 - Brushan Athale, 29, of Dayton, Ohio, was not injured when he hit his brakes while traveling on Interstate 80 in Clarion Township and slid off of the road into the ditch.
8:20 p.m. Thursday - Ronald Cornetti of Winfield Road, Cabot, reported a pressurized water tank stolen from his home after the house was damaged by flooding from Tropical Storm Ivan. The tank is valued at $175.10:30 p.m. Sunday - John Davis of Kittanning reported his cell phone was lost at the Cowansville American Legion in Sugar Creek Township.
