RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Millie Martsolf will be the guest soloist at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of The Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

Practices for the children's Christmas musical will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Rehearsals will be held each Wednesday and all participants will have a speaking or singing part.

BRUSH CREEK CHRISTIAN

Services at Brush Creek Christian Church will now be held at St. John's Specialty Care Center, 500 Wittenberg Way, Mars.

Bible study will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sundays followed by the service at 10:30 a.m. Starting Sunday, the Rev. Jan Weston can be reached at 724-452-5080.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

A Ministry Fair will be held in Oz Hall after the weekend services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road.

As part of the 40 Days of Purpose campaign, members are asked to share a brief story about how their lives have been impacted during the Purpose Driven Life program. Stories will be used during Celebration on Nov. 7.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Amber Crowe will provide music at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Becky Price will share her experiences while teaching in Russia at the 7 p.m. Wednesday Bible study in the sanctuary.

The Happy Lunch Bunch will take a cruise on Lake Arthur at 11 a.m. Saturday. Members should take $5.25 and a sack lunch. Registration is required.

Personal hygiene products will be collected for the Crisis Cares Closet Sunday through Oct. 30. Donations can be left at the counseling center desk.

COMMUNITY ALLIANCE

A special guest missionary will be the speaker at Sunday services at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road.

COVENANT PRESBY

The Rev. Fred Young, a retired Baptist minister, will be the guest preacher at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

Dale Allison, a professor at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will lead the Seekers Class, which meets at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room.

Beginning Sunday, the Kids in Christ Klub, pre-school through sixth grade, will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.

Handbell choir rehearsals will begin at 6 p.m. today.

FAITH FELLOWSHIP

The Alliance Women of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faithway-Fared Drive, will host a card stamping instruction at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship area. Members will also be collecting baby bath, lotion, shampoo, wipes and disposable diapers for the Karns City Pregnancy Center.

FIRST U.M.

A tailgate party will be held this weekend at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St. Parties will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in Wesley Hall and at 8 p.m. Sunday in Epworth Center. For information, call the church office at 724-283-6160.

Due to a shortage in supply, the flu shot sessions scheduled for this weekend have been canceled.

The Ground Zero Youth will travel to Family Bowlaway from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday for the Festival of Fear. Cost is $12 and includes admission, pizza and beverages. Permission slips are required. For information, call Bill Gumpper at the church office.

Volunteers are needed to clean from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. For information, call Anna Marie at the church office. Participants should take their own bucket and cleaning rags.

Bibles will be presented to children in the first grade at the 10:50 a.m. Sunday service. Parents with children in the first grade should call Michelle Winters at 724-283-6160, extension 233, so that sufficient Bibles will be available.

Youth ages 9 and older who plan to become an Acolyte should contact the church office.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The children's sermon will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

HILL U.P.

Victory Weekend will be celebrated during the weekend services at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. The Cherub Choir will perform at the Saturday service and the Kids of the Kingdom will perform Sunday.

Food collection for harvest home will begin Oct. 30 and 31. Canned and jarred foods will be collected and donated to the Covenant Cupboard for Thanksgiving baskets.

The Deacons will host a soup and salad luncheon following the Oct. 31 service. Members should take a salad to share. Soup, rolls and desserts will be provided.

Youth age 3 through grade 12 who plan to participate in the Christmas musical must sign up by Wednesday.

Tenors and basses are needed for the Chancel Choir, to participate, call Kathy Sawyer.

MERIDIAN U.P.

The Rev. Edwin Carlson of Butler will lead the Sunday service at Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

NORTH MAIN ST. CHURCH OF GOD

Brian and Kim Tabor will provide music and lead the service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext.

The youth will prepare an all-church spaghetti luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall. Donations will benefit the youth ministry.

OLD UNION PRESBY

The Youth Group of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday before going to the Pitt-Rutgers football game.

The Fall Fest will be held Saturday. The event will include jack o' lantern judging, wagon rides, a bonfire, corn maze and food.

Reformation Sunday will be celebrated at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

Bring a friend Sunday will be held at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

Church members who plan to participate in the kazoo band at the Evans City Halloween Parade on Wednesday, should meet at 6 p.m. at the parade line.

A Halloween parade and party will be held during Sunday school on Oct. 31.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

Local gospel singers, Keith Stauffer and Tim Amerson will be perform a gospel concert at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at St, John's Reformed Church, Route 68 at Benbrook Road.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

The office of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will be closed Friday.

The mandatory acolyte training session will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the church. Pizza will be provided.

Special envelopes will be provided Sunday for the United Thank Offering.

The Daughters of the King will host at coffee hour following the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service. Information about the group will be available. A new members' class will begin in November.

Names of loved ones to be remembered during the Nov. 7 All Saint's Day service should be called into the church office by Oct. 29.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

Parents of Little Ones of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, will be selling their cookbooks after weekend Masses.

The youth group will volunteer from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Lighthouse.

SLIPPERY ROCK U.M.

A hayride and bonfire for members of Slippery Rock United Methodist, Franklin and Maple streets, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Kind Farm. Participants should take a covered dish to share.

David Benrexi will be the guest speaker at 9 p.m. Friday in the Praise Café.

Slippery Rock University professor Tom Gordon will lead the second of four parenting workshops at 7 p.m. Monday. The event is open to parents of children in preschool or elementary school.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Communion will be served at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Dr.

A covered dish dinner theater will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday to celebrate the church's 92nd birthday. The Trippin' Trinity Thespians will present "The Bride Wore Green Chile Peppers."

TRINITY PRESBY

Volunteers are needed to help with the card ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave. A sign-up sheet is located in the narthex.

Volunteers from the church will serve from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the Covenant Food Cupboard.

VICTORY CHRISTIAN

Joe McGee, a nationally known and humorous family conference speaker, will be at Victory Christian Fellowship, 216 Mystic Pine Trail, Cranberry Township, Oct. 30 through Nov. 3. In addition to weekend services, he will be at the church at 7:15 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
