7 students named Merit semifinalists
Seven Butler County students have been named 2004-05 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists.
Students who qualified for the scholarship program did so by scoring in the top 5 percent of all students taking the PSAT test in 2003.
More than 15,000 semifinalists now advance to the final round before winners are chosen.
Students who move onto the final stage are:
Grove City High School - Andrew Valentine
Grove City home schoolers - Elizabeth Miller, Esther Miller and Jamie White
Seneca Valley High School - Elizabeth Skubak
Knoch High School - Alex Penn
Moniteau High School - Evan Smith
Winners, who will receive a $2,500 scholarship, will be announced in April 2005.
