Falcons' Crapis runs through Union's defense A-C Valley 67, Union 12

RIMERSBURG - In the world of professional football, if a player has 191 yards and four touchdowns he is considered a fantasy stud.

Too bad Rocco Crapis doesn't play pro football, yet.

The Falcons, behind the running of Crapis, overwhelmed Union for a 67-12 victory Thursday night.

Crapis averaged 14.6 yards per carry and had scoring runs of 1, 70, 23, and 48 yards.

"We just give him the ball and let him run," said A-C Valley coach Randy Lemmon. "(Crapis) is a find. This is a kid who didn't even play last year."

The Falcons got a gift on the second play from scrimmage when Union tailback Clint Lineman fumbled and A-C Valley pounced on the ball at the Golden Knights' 29-yard line.

A-C Valley converted the turnover 10 plays later when Crapis plunged into the end zone from a yard out.

Union answered right back on the next play from scrimmage when Colton Davis broke loose around the right end and rumbled 64 yards for the touchdown, his team's first points of the season.

It didn't take long for A-C Valley to respond.

Three plays later, Crapis added his second touchdown of the night when he scorched the Union defense for a 70-yard touchdown run.

At the end of the first quarter, Crapis had 109 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

In the second quarter, the Falcons special teams put on a show by returning back-to-back punts for touchdowns.

The first punt was partially blocked by Trevor Miller and was picked up by Hank Heeter, who darted 30 yards for the score.

The second was a masterpiece by Luiz Goncalves who danced his way 61 yards to the end zone.

A-C Valley capped off the first half when Heeter ran a reverse 38 yards and scored as time ran out with the Falcons holding a 35-6 lead at the break.

Union did manage to get on the scoreboard with 1:43 left in the third quarter when quarterback Josh Holden sneaked into the end zone.

Davis led Union's offense with 137 rushing yards and the touchdown.

"Colton is a good player, he plays every down," said Union coach Tom Kidder. "I wish we had a few more kids like Colton."

The Falcons (3-2, 1-2) piled up 244 yards on the ground and gained 317 total yards.

A-C Valley hosts Redbank Valley next Friday while Union (0-5, 0-5) hosts Cochranton.
