12:50 a.m. Saturday - Gregory Watterson, 45, of Sharon was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on East New Castle Street.9 a.m. Friday - Someone stole a license plate registered to Dena Scisciana from a vehicle owned by John McFarland, 30, of 519 W. New Castle St. while it was parked outside his residence.5:05 p.m. Sept. 18 - Rachel Seminatore, 18, of 113 Euclid Ave. was charged with hit and run after her car collided with a vehicle driven by Jason Schneider, 22, of Cabot. The incident happened on Route 8 south. Seminatore told police she left the scene because she didn't have any of her information with her.
Sept. 20- A Dyno Air bicycle owned by Michael Smolnik, 22, of 113 Dale St. was stolen from his residence sometime between Sept. 18 and 19. The bicycle, which has a white seat and black five-spoke wheels, is valued at $150.Sept. 18 - A wallet owned by Holly Everson, 21, of Sandy Lake was taken from Everson's purse while she was working at the Subway restaurant on South Broad Street. The furry zebra-design wallet and its contents are valued at $110.Sept. 18 - William C. Urey, 77, of Centertown Road was arrested for driving under the influence, accidents involving unattended property and careless driving after he allegedly struck a parked vehicle on South Broad Street and left the scene. The parked vehicle is owned by James Frengel, 24, of Pittsburgh.Sept. 17 - A 14-year-old male juvenile and two female juveniles, 14 and 15, were cited for disorderly conduct after a fight on a school bus. The male juvenile was also charged with harassment.Sept. 17 - The American Legion Post 220 at 415 S. Broad St. was cited for control of alarm devices and automated dialing service after officers responded to four false alarms in 12 months.Sept. 16 - A white male in his 70s or 80s used a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for gas at the BP gas station on West Main Street.Sept. 15 - Noel Ryan, 55, of 585 George Junior Road was cited for not having his dog confined to his property, not having the dog registered and lack of a current rabies shot for the animal after an incident on Sept. 13 in which Ryan's dog was running loose in the borough.Sept. 15 - A set of keys was turned into police. The keys can be claimed at the police station with valid identification.
Sept. 21- Police responded to a call by Nickolis LeBland, 37, of 200 Jefferson Court after LeBland was allegedly assaulted while stopped at the intersection of South Main Street and Keister Road. The incident happened after a man in his 20s driving a red pickup truck had been driving behind LeBland. While stopped at the intersection, the man reportedly hit LeBland in his eye, then used his vehicle to hit LeBland's Ford Explorer.Sept. 18 - Thomas J. Martin, 38, of Grove City was arrested after reports that he had stolen $60 from the office of Ginger Hill Tavern in Slippery Rock. A manager at the tavern reported seeing the theft on a security tape. Martin had done landscaping work and cleaning at the tavern.
8 a.m. Wednesday - Someone cut the padlock on the front gate at 422 Home Sales in Franklin Township. Eight of the homes were entered and furniture, appliances and televisions were removed. Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Charles Shippee of the state police at 724-284-8100.
