Stewart, King

Butler residents Linda Stewart and Charles King exchanged wedding vows at 3 p.m. July 3 at Armco Park in Slippery Rock. The Rev. Kate Filer officiated. The bride's son, Nicholas Stewart of Butler, presented his mother for marriage. A reception followed at Armco Park.

The bride is the daughter of Warren and Dolores Watt of Freeport. Parents of the bridegroom are the late George and Charlotte King.

The bride's daughter, Heather Young of Butler, was the matron of honor. Rachel Young of Butler, the bride's granddaughter, was the junior bridesmaid. The flower girl was Esther Young of Butler, the bride's granddaughter.

Serving his father as best man was Jared King of Butler. The groomsman was the bride's son, James Stewart of Butler. The bride's grandson, Issac Young of Butler, was the ring bearer.

The bride graduated in 1969 from Freeport High School and in 1973 from Clarion University. She is a substitute teacher for various school districts in the area.

The bridegroom graduated in 1969 from Butler High School and in 1974 from Slippery Rock University. He works for AK Steel in Butler.

The couple honeymooned in the Poconos and the Lehigh River Gorge area. They will make their home in Butler.
