Lutz, Pierson

Jennifer Lutz and Mark Pierson, both of Severn, Md. exchanged wedding vows at 5:30 p.m. July 30 at The Atrium in Prospect. The Rev. Jim Lewis officiated. The couple then greeted guests during a reception at The Atrium.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Karen Lutz of Slippery Rock. Parents of the bridegroom are Ken and Joy Pierson of Glenn Dale, Md.

Serving as the honor attendant was Jodi Lutz of Valladolid, Spain. Bridesmaids included Jamie Lutz of Pittsburgh and Jessica Yates of Slippery Rock. The flower girl was Alexis Lutz of Valladolid.

Performing the duties of best man was Jonathan Hudson of Waldorf, Md. Groomsmen included Paul Pierson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; Hugh Harris of New Carrollton, Md.; and Edward Kutz of Crofton, Md. The ring bearer was Robert Pierson of Martinsburg.

The bride graduated in 1992 from Slippery Rock High School, in 1996 from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in education and in 2002 from Johns Hopkins University with a master's degree in education. She is a foreign language teacher for Prince George's County Public Schools.

The bridegroom graduated in 1985 from Capital Christian Academy, in 1992 from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree and in 1999 from National Louis University, receiving a master's degree in education. He is a physical education teacher for Prince George's County Public Schools.

After honeymooning in St. Lucia, the couple is living in Severn.
