Bernard and Louise Black of Butler celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at their home.

Black and the former Louise Kemper were married Sept. 4, 1954, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They are the parents of Rick Black, Mary Lee Tompkins, Bob Black, Donna Geibel and Janet Fulmer, all of Butler; and Carol Sparks of Allegany, N.Y. They also have 12 grandchildren.

Black is retired from the Butler School District. He is a member of the East Butler Volunteer Fireman's Club and the Butler Moose.

Mrs. Black is retired from J.C. Penney. She is a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Butler Moose.

The couple belongs to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
