Wednesday - Anthony Pallone, 20, of 564 W. Brady St. was charged with forgery after allegedly admitting he signed the name of the check's owner, a 20-year-old Butler woman, to a check for $45 at the Armco Credit Union in Butler. Police said the suspect told officers he used the money to buy cigarettes and other items.
8:23 p.m. Friday - Eileen Sharek, 52, of 402 Creekwood Drive, Zelienople, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on South Main Street.
4:30 a.m. Wednesday - A pickup truck driven by Robert Burgard, 19, of Renfrew struck a tree along Hicks Road in Penn Township. Burgard, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.8:58 a.m. Tuesday - A 62-year-old woman riding a bicycle was injured when she was struck by a pickup truck at Mercer and McDonald streets in Harrisville.Virginia Merkle, who was not wearing a bicycle helmet, suffered a head injury after her bike was "clipped" by the pickup driven by Jeffrey Van Dyke, 39, of Harrisville, police said.Police did not indicate the hospital where Merkle was taken. No other information was available this morning.4:30 a.m. Sunday - A car driven by Michael Deal, no age given, of Boyers struck an embankment along Hooker Road in West Sunbury. Deal suffered minor injuries.Friday - Brett Leroy Whitmire, no age given, of Washington Township was arrested for allegedly taking a guitar after breaking into the Bluebell Lane home of Christopher Chuhra in Brady Township. The burglary occurred between Aug. 17 and Friday. Police said Whitmire later sold the B.C. Rich guitar to Fudoli Music in Butler for $100. Whitmire is charged with burglary.Aug. 16 - Three oxygen tank cylinders and an oxygen regulator were stolen between 10 a.m. Aug. 15 and 4 p.m. Aug. 16 from a rescue vehicle at the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department on Fairview Road in Washington Township.
