Butler residents Heidi Emrick and Stephen Friel exchanged wedding vows at 4 p.m. July 30 at the Carousel Shelter in Alameda Park. The Rev. Bob Peterson officiated. A reception followed at Alameda Park.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Virginia Kurtz of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Joe and Maggie Friel of Butler.

The honor attendant was the bride's daughter Maggie Emrick of Butler. The flower girl was Christina Friel of Butler.

Serving her father as honor attendant was Brittany Friel of Ellwood City.

The bride attended Butler High School and Butler County Community College. She works at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh.

The bridegroom also attended BHS and Butler County Community College. He works for Sprint PCS in Pittsburgh.

The couple is living in Butler.
