Frank Wotus of Butler celebrated his 80th birthday recently with a surprise party hosted by his children at Dutch Treat restaurant in Spartansburg. The event was attended by family and friends.

Wotus was born Aug. 20, 1924. He married Dorothy Rickenbrode on Aug. 23, 1952. She is deceased.

He has four children, Debra Shiver of Yadkinville, N.C.; Christine Hahn of Chicora; and Frank Wotus and Thomas Wotus, both of Butler.

A veteran of World War II, he is retired from Pullman Standard in Butler.
