Army Pfc. Stephen Moore has earned an associate degree in Persian Farsi from the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center, at The Presidio in Monterey, Calif.

Moore, a 1997 graduate of Butler High School, is the son of Robert and Frances Moore of Butler.

He currently lives in Seaside, Calif., with his wife, Sarah Fallmon Moore, and their son, Henry.

Dylan Parker has reported for basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy.

Parker is the son of Roy and Frances Parker of Chicora.

He is a 2004 graduate of Karns City High School.

Dale Lipan, son of Steve and Robin Braden of Butler, entered the Air Force's delayed-entry program in July 2003 and left for basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, on Aug. 10 of this year.

He is a 2004 graduate of Butler High School.

Caitlin Curran has reported for basic cadet training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy.

Curran is the daughter of Charles and Claudia Curran of Pleasanton, Calif., and the granddaughter of Fred and Marian Curran of Butler.

She is a 2004 graduate of Foothill High School, Pleasanton.

This month, Edward Heeter Sr., regional representative of the Governor's Veterans Outreach and Assistance Center, is having office hours from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Butler Armory, 250 Kreiss Road, Room 113.Dates and times are subject to change.
