The 7,000-member International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 recently announced its endorsement of
Kevan Yenerall, Democratic candidate for the state Senate in the 21st District.
James Kurtz, the local's business manager, cited Yenerall's "commitment to protecting the interests of working families," in the announcement.
Yenerall is challenging Republican Sen.
Mary Jo White in the Nov. 2 election.
Pennsylvania's largest police union, Philadelphia's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, last week announced its endorsement of
Joe Peters, Republican candidate for state auditor general.
FOP Lodge 5 represents more than 14,5000 active and pensioned law enforcement officers.
Peters and Democrat Jack Wagner are seeking the auditor general's post in the Nov. 2 election.
