10:50 p.m. Thursday - City police will charge Jeffrey W. McCoppin Jr., 41, of Lyndora with making false reports to law enforcement following an incident on South Street in Butler. The 911 center and city police received a report of a stabbing on South Street. When police arrived they determined there was no stabbing and McCoppin had made the report.
2:10 a.m. Friday - Jeffrey Watson, 38, of Evans City was charged with driving under the influence on New Castle Road. Additionally, he was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Friday - A Cheswick woman was charged with writing a bad check after she signed a check she was not authorized to sign to buy two vehicles.On June 16 police received a call from Baglier Buick/GMC regarding a fraudulent check used to buy two used vehicles. An investigation revealed Suzanne Carol Czwalga, 38, was not authorized to sign the checks and charges of theft by deception, receiving stolen property and writing bad checks were filed.In a separate incident on July 30, police received a complaint from Northwest Savings Bank regarding similar checks signed by Czwalga. Charges of forgery, theft by deception, receiving stolen property and writing bad checks were filed.District Justice Kevin O'Donnell arraigned Czwalga. She waived her preliminary hearing and was released on her own recognizance.
12:40 p.m. Thursday - A motorcycle driven by Roy Cook, 44, of Adams Township struck a tree along Union Church Road. Cook, who was wearing a helmet, was taken with undisclosed injuries to a hospital.
4:40 p.m. Friday - Kenneth Dever, 32, of Grove City was charged with driving under the influence following a collision with a vehicle driven by Jason Parker on Route 208 at the intersection of Route 19 in Springfield Township.
