Milestones
Dwight and Sally Allerton of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Prospect, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Allerton and the former Sally London were married June 3, 1939.
They are the parents of Dr. Ron Allerton of Nevis, West Indies; and Judith Raisely of Harmony. They also have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The couple owned and operated the Aljuron Poultry Farm and Mobile Home Park. Since retiring, they have been involved in missionary work and have served in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Ivory Coast, Haiti and New Mexico.
Charles and Amelia Miller of Lyndora were surprised by a reception at Highfield Hall in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. The party was hosted by their children.Miller and the former Amelia DeAngelo were married July 31, 1954, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.They are the parents of Charles Miller Jr., Darryl Miller, Angela Miller and Paul Miller, all of Butler; and Jim Miller of Omaha, Neb. They also have five grandchildren.Miller is retired from Armco Butler Works. He is a member of the Highfield Men's ClubMrs. Miller is a homemaker.The couple belongs to St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Burton and Patricia Roxbury will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday.Roxbury and the former Patricia Arbogast were married Aug. 7, 1964, at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect.They are the parents of Ronald Roxbury and Robert Roxbury, both of Prospect; and Tina Irwin of Callery. They also have 11 grandchildren.Roxbury works in construction, where he is a foreman.Mrs. Roxbury is a homemaker.The couple belongs to the Church of God of Evans City.Lucas
Joseph "Gabby" Lucas Sr. of Butler celebrated his 90th birthday with a family gathering.Lucas was born July 18, 1914, in Freeport. He married the former Beatrice Fend July 26, 1942. She is deceased.He is the father of Joseph Lucas Jr. of Butler; and David Lucas of Boulder, Colo. He also has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Lucas worked at Armco and is a retired steelworker. He is a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the Butler Bocce Association, Retiree Golf League and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoys singing and entertaining.
