Kerry/Bush debate
I'd like to begin by saying that everyone here is entitled to their own opinions and should vote the way they deem necessary.
However, my vote will go to Kerry. Bush has divided our nation (just look at this message board!), and I see no hope for my future with him in office for four more years. Like Gloria said, jobs have been lost, and there hasn't been any sign of hope in the past three years, even for college graduates. I am a great example of this. I graduated last year with a Master's degree, and I work for a local retailer. It's a great company, but I didn't spend 7 years in school to make 7 bucks an hour. I can barely afford to pay back my loans from my undergrad, and I can't imagine how I'm going to afford to pay my loans (now deferred for economic hardship) for my graduate program when they start back up in December. Is Bush creating new jobs? If so, I haven't seen them in my daily searches for employment.
My mother in law pays close to $1000 a month for her medications. Is Bush suddenly going to change his policy on healthcare? If he's re-elected, I hope so. Somehow I feel otherwise.
I also keep hearing negative things about Teresa Heinz Kerry. It seems silly to me to judge a man based on who his wife is. So she's an opinionated woman. It's such a double standard when women are labeled that way. I thought we had moved beyond that in this day and age. So what if she kept her late husband's name? They were married for 25 years and Senator Heinz died in a plane crash. I urge people to go to JohnKerry.com and read about what she has done with the Howard Heinz Endowment and the Heinz Family Philanthropies.
For those undecided, please research each candidate and make the decision you feel is best for your future. Kerry may not be perfect, (honestly, what president has been?) but he's the best option I have..My family and I can't survive another 4 years with Bush in office.
