Mary Ellen Bell of Butler was recently honored by her family and friends at the Runway Restaurant in honor of the 80th birthday.

The former Mary Ellen Brough was born July 28, 1924, in Butler. She married Earl "Dernie" Bell. He is deceased.

She is the mother of Earl Bell Jr. and Nancy Giese, both of Butler.

Mrs. Bell is retired from Nationwide Insurance, where she was a supervisor. She is a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and the Red Hat Society, Crimson Chapeau Cuties.
