I don't understand:

Why county Commissioners Glenn Anderson and James Kennedy insist on building the new prison downtown instead of at Sunnyview, where many taxpayers wish it to be. I'm with Commissioner Scott Lowe in favoring Sunnyview.

Why the county should help build a tier garage in Butler.

Why, considering the city's financial problems, parents who have children attending elementary schools don't form a group to watch their own children at the street crossings, rather than employ crossing guards.

Why, if you buy a new car, the insurance company quotes you a premium price, then 10 years later your premium is the same or higher, even though the value of the car has gone down drastically?

Why a cutoff is not in place to allow senior citizens to quit paying property taxes. People currently pay school taxes while their children are in school and continue to pay while their grandchildren and great-grandchildren are being educated. It seems there should be a cutoff for senior citizens.

Why George W. Bush wants to run for a second term after putting our country in the worst shape it's ever been in? Do others also think Bush sent our sons and daughters into Iraq to get Saddam Hussein because he made an attempt on his dad after the Persian Gulf War?

Why I am writing this letter anyway.

One final point: Does anyone think all the floods, storms, etc., are our punishment from God for going into Iraq?
