Melissa Stanton was recently presented the Junior Woman of the Year award during the closing dinner of the Junior Women's Club of Butler.

Stanton was honored for serving as a chairwoman of the club's Twilight Magic fund-raising event, as the club's recording secretary and for her service in various other committees during her 10 years of membership.

She was also recognized for her involvement in the community. Stanton has served as co-chairperson of the Butler County Symphony Association's house tour and a member of the association's board. She has also served as a judge for the Junior Miss Pageant and is active in her church, where she has taught Sunday school and played the organ.

Stanton lives in Butler Township with her husband and two sons.
