Annabelle Cross
God's hand reached out to Annabelle Cross at age 79; and he led her out of Earth's dark shadows and pain. She died Tuesday morning at her home in Harrisville.
She has gone to be reunited with her beloved husband, Frank; and they live happily ever after in God's heavenly kingdom of perfect peace.
Born June 15, 1925, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Anna Beck and Frank J. Sweeney.
She retired from the food service department of the Slippery Rock School District after 17 years.
Mrs. Cross was a very active member of the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, where she served as a trustee, Sunday school teacher and as church treasurer for the past 36 years. She also was active in the Worker's Class of the church and was one of the founding members of the group more than 50 years ago.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. William F. Datt (Sue/Sarah) of Harrisville, with whom she made her home, Marsha Cross of Harrisville and Jeff Cross and his wife, Cindy, of Grove City. Also surviving are four grandchildren, William P. and Heather Datt, L.D. Williams and Michelle Cross; and a great-grandson, William Nicholas Tyler Datt.
Her husband, W. Frank Cross, whom she married April 1, 1948, died April 30, 2003. A son-in-law, William F. Daft, also preceded her in death.
-Friends of Annabelle Cross, who died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, New Castle Road, Slippery Rock. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with Mark Frailey, lay pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery, Worth Township.
