2:55 p.m. Friday - Robert Gamble, no age given, of 419 Maryland Ave. lost control of his vehicle as he traveled at a high rate of speed on Sunset Drive in Center Township. Gamble's vehicle slid across the road, struck a utility pole and rolled onto its roof. Gamble was wearing his seatbelt and was not hurt.11:30 a.m. Friday - A 2000 Peterbilt truck driven by Thomas Barnette, 56, of Dayton, Pa., and a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Kirk Dalton, 36, of Prospect collided on Route 422 in Butler Township.9:08 a.m. Friday - Vehicles driven by Faith Fedor, 47, of Forestville and Evan Martin, 16, of Slippery Rock collided with a motorcycle driven by John West, 70, of Slippery Rock on Route 8 in Mercer Township. West, who was thrown from the motorcycle, was treated for a minor injury at Grove City Hospital and released.7:15 a.m. Friday - Someone pried open a soda machine outside the Trader Horn at 2760 Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township and took an unknown amount of money.6:33 a.m. Friday - Vehicles driven by James Dimun, 43, and Lamar Sandidge, 25, both of Butler, collided on Route 8 in Center Township. Neither man was injured.8:50 p.m. Thursday - Michael A. Harter, 34, of Evans City was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangering and driving under the influence following an incident on Buhl Road in Evans City.He drove to 120 Buhl Road, where he accelerated up the driveway toward Roberta Hageter, 69, and James Harter, 39, both of Evans City. Michael Harter stopped his car just short of them, got out and started screaming obscenities at them. When James Harter went inside to call police, Michael Harter got back in his vehicle and started driving around the property, damaging the grass. He then drove away.Officer Brian Mazzanti of the Evans City Police Department found Michael Harter on Rafael Lane. When Mazzanti approached Harter, he threw a metal can and a newspaper box at the patrol car and approached Mazzanti in an aggressive manner. Mazzanti then sprayed Harter with pepper spray. Harter fled into a nearby yard. Mazzanti caught Harter, who continued to resist arrest. Additional police arrived and Harter was taken into custody. He also refused to take a Breathalyzer test.Harter was eventually arraigned and is in Butler County Prison on $30,000 bond.4:30 p.m. Thursday - Clarence W. Walker, 26, and Kimberly B. Walker, 24, both of Dayton, were arrested and charged with retail theft after they allegedly stole $366 worth of material from the Sears Department Store in Clearview Mall in Center Township. The couple used a stroller and diaper bag to remove the items from the store.
11:30 p.m. Thursday - Adam Herman, 21, of Butler told state police he was assaulted by a known individual at the County Line Bar in Clearfield Township.
June 28 - Robert Burns Jr., 41, of Clarion was charged with a hit-and-run collision after he lost control of his 2003 Hummer on Laurel Road in Piney Township. Burns left the scene after his vehicle left the road and struck several trees.1 a.m. June 24 - A 37-year old Bethlehem man was charged with driving under the influence after state police found him passed out in his vehicle in the parking lot of Doc's Tavern on Route 68 in Toby Township. The police did not release his name.
