A September 2005 wedding is being planned by Ashley Hartzell and Sgt. Zachary Purvis, both of Evans City.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dennis Hartzell of Slippery Rock and Carolyn Smith of Evans City. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Robert Purvis and Beverly Purvis, both of Evans City.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and received and associates of applied science degree in nursing from Butler County Community College in 2003. She works as a registered nurse at UPMC Passavant in North Hills.

Her fiancé is a 2000 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. He enlisted in the Marines in 2001 and continues to serve as a sergeant.
